I. Recruitment Policy

Our application process is based off of a deliberation-type system. We believe in our applicants to be able to showcase their abilities as guild members on and off the field of play. We not only evaluate certain raiding essentials, but also personality essentials in being a person, a player, and a friend. Our application process is as follows:

Step 1 - Rules and Regulations and Guild Charter

Before the process can begin, you must read and understand both the rules and regulations and guild charter documents. Understanding and agreeing to these documents is your first step into joining our organization. These two documents outline the organization believes and the expectations we have for members and prospects. Understanding our beliefs is the key to having a successful application process.

Step 2 - Guild Application

Fill out an application on Rift: Planes of Telara Recruitment forum. You will need to create an account with
www.trinityguild.org to access our Forums. For easier record keeping, we require everyone to use their proper in-game name. Filling out the application honestly and thoroughly will only better your chances with us. The more information that is provided, the better we will be able to understand you as a person and can consider the application much quicker. We fully understand and respect marriages and couples, however joint applicants will be discarded and will be asked to apply separately.

Step 3 - Interview

If your application is to be considered, you will be contacted by the recruitment officer for an interview. Our interviews are conducted privately through tells. Our interviews are considered to be brief with questions on the applicants understanding on Trinity's structure and beliefs. This will give us a better insight on the person/player on a more flexible and profound manner. Once the interview is completed, you will be informed if and when you will be invited into the guild.

Step 4 - Applicant Period

Upon receiving your guild tag, your forum access will be extended to the Applicants & Initiates section of the boards and you will be able to participate in guild activities. It is up to you to prove your worth to the guild. However, this is not a popularity contest. Your willingness to help out the guild in any form or fashion and your determination to be the best at your class are the key essentionals that matter the most. The application period will last approximately 30 active days after you recieve your tag. If you successfuly complete the application period, you will be promoted to the "Initiate" status.

Step 5 - Initiate Phase and Sponsorship

After recieving your Initiate promotion, your next goal will be to recieve a sponsor from the current membership of the guild. You will be eligible for a sponsor after holding the Initiate status for 7 days (week). To obtain a sponsor, you must continue to show diligence in your class and commitment to upholding the guild name. If a member feels you are ready for membership, he or she will approach you to become your sponsor. A member may only sponsor one person at a time. After recieving sponsorship, the sponsor will then present his case for the initiate to become a member, if the case is accepted you will recieve the promotion of official membership into the guild.

The full duration of the application process is exptected to be 4-7 weeks on average for each member. However your performance in guild will be the upmost deciding factor throughout the duration.

II. Raid Attendance

Raid attendance will be recorded for every raid that we commence. Every applicant, initiate, member, officer, and leader must be able to maintain 60% raid attendance while in guild. Each raid will be awarded a point total based on type of raid target. On a given night, we might take down 5 targets, each with a different point value. This encourages people to log on even if they are going to be late or if they have to leave early.

Raid attendance is checked on a monthly basis as well as an on going overall. If you are unable to make such a commitment with us, then Trinity may not be the guild for you. We understand that real life issues may occur and may cause needed time of inactivity, if this occur, you must, may I stress, MUST post about it or contact an officer ASAP. Currently 7:00pm EST is our standard start time; however with the nature of contested mobs and zones, it could start earlier. Always being prepared will work in your favor.

III. Looting Policy

Our looting will be done on a need-basis by officer discretion. Many factors will play apart in this. (Note - Factors are weighed differently with each scenario):

- Raid Attendance - The higher, the better. It pays to raid.
- Guild Benefit - Loot will be given to the person/class we believe it will most benefit and also how it benefits the guild the most.
- Members - Members will take priority in our looting system. As a general rule, don't "expect" anything as an applicant. Applicants that are overly concerned about loot or believe they've earned a piece of gear will not make it far with us. This does not however mean that applicants will never receive any reward for their raiding, we see to it that everyone is geared decently to increase performance in the raiding field.
- Secondaries will be considered for loot if all primary loot needs have been satisfied.
- All loot received on raids will be classified as Guild Property. This meaning that any loot you receive on raids is not to be sold or given to any player outside of the guild.

We expect all members and applicants to understand this policy so that no disputes will occur. If you have any questions about how this procedure is carried out, contact an officer and it can be explained in more detail.

Why no DKP System?
Our reasons for not choosing a DKP system to distribute loot is simple, we want loot to benefit the guild and not just individuals. Not saying that DKP doesn't benefit guilds, we just want to be able to detail everyone in the appropriate gear that would better their performance in raids. For example, a dual wielding dagger drops with a poison damage proc that is usable by Sorcerers, Rogues, and Berserkers. With a DKP, it would be a toss up between the 3 classes as it would vary as who has attended raids more primarily. With our system, we would choose the Rogue class over the other 2 as it would help them much more as they are a DPS class and specify in daggers. Raid attendance would play a big role however this is a general outlook.

Loot is linked in guild chat and the officer linking the loot takes the tells unless otherwise stated. Tells are to be sent to the appropriate officer stating which item/items you want. Only the winners will be announced in guild. Note: DO NOT LET LOOT ROT THAT IS AN UPGRADE FOR YOU, do not be shy on asking for loot. Asking for loot will never be held against you but letting an item rot that you could have used will be noted and highly frowned upon.

IV. Conduct and Discipline

Trinity honors the ZERO TOLERANCE policy. We expect all our members, applicants, and officers to act in a mature behavior. Therefore, channel spamming, exploiting content, dupping, illegal botting, and disrespectful behavior to guildmates will NOT be tolerated. If such of the following were to occur, a warning will be issued for the first time, guild removal will be the second. We are a guild of highly respected gamers, we intend on keeping it that way.

V. Miscellaneous

Trinity's primary form of communication will be through guild chat. During raids however, we will be using the 3rd party voice communication program, Ventrilo. We ask that all applicants and members to download the client at www.ventrilo.com and have it up and running while in guild. We also prefer that you have a working microphone since it may become a necessity during raids. Most raids however are muted except for the raid leaders and select classes.

Here are a few more tidbits about the guild:

- We are an EST based Guild. (We do not discourage other time-zones players)
- We will be heavily geared towards the end-game content.
- We will never quit.
- We have fun while playing.

VI. Conclusion

If you managed to get this far on the charter, than thank you for reading it. Just for your reassurance, we are a guild that plays as a family and intend on succeeding as one. Our goal is to excel as a raiding guild together. If you are still interested in joining us, head over to the forums and put in an application. The process of becoming a Trinity member is a journey in itself, if you are to be successful, you will be rewarded greatly! Good Luck!

Trinity is an Equal Opportunity Guild meaning we do not discriminate anyone based off of national origin, ethnicity, sex, age, sexual orientation, disabilities, or religion.
